Parable of Returning Sinner

Heavenly Father is willing to forgive any sinner. However, the sinner must not be far away from the Father and expect the Father to come and rescue him while He is still sinning. It is the responsibility of the sinner who is in darkness to forsake his sins and come back to the Father so that he may live.

Christ is our only Teacher

Matt 23:10 “And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. Luke 6:40 “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. Jas 3:1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

Pluck out that causes you to sin

Matt 5:27-30 You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Does Christ know you?

Matt 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

If you love the Lord, you will hate the world

As Christians we are called to show mercy and compassion even to our enemies and not to have vengeance on them. But never have any fellowship with unbelievers and those who do abominations like homosexuality. If we are righteous, we must choose our friends carefully, for the way of the wicked will lead us astray.

Bible Study: Ezekiel 24 – Destruction of Jerusalem Temple

Ezek 24:13-14 In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you, and you were not cleansed, You will not be cleansed of your filthiness anymore, Till I have caused My fury to rest upon you. I, the LORD, have spoken it; It shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not hold back, Nor will I spare, Nor will I relent; According to your ways And according to your deeds They will judge you,” Says the Lord GOD.

Are you filthy after cleansed?

Are you filthy after cleansed by the blood of Jesus? If God did not spare Israel, He may not spare you either (Rom 11:21). Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was cleansed a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? (Heb 10:29).
