The 7 Commandments of the Jesus Christ

In the new covenant, we repeatedly hear that we are not under the law and not saved by the law. Most of us are not aware that the law does not give atonement for sins deserving death but Christ’s sacrifice gives us atonement for all sins including those deserving death except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ’s perfect sacrifice, all the righteous requirements of the law including death penalty for sins deserving death are fulfilled in Him.

Christ is not just a better sacrifice than animals. Instead, He is our Mediator, High Priest and God Himself manifest in flesh who took away all our sins. The new covenant is not without commandments and Christ did gave His commandments which is summarized as follows.

Matt 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ “This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

2John 1:5-6 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

The new covenant can be summarized by just one word ‘love’: To Love God and to love our fellow brethren as our own self.

John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

In contrast to the old covenant which contains explicitly mentioned laws, the new covenant just mentions love and to love Him is to keep His commandments. What are His commandments we should follow so that we can love Him according to the new covenant?

Matt 5:17-20 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfillFor assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. “Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Christ came to fulfill the law according to the old covenant and He fulfilled it. He now gave us new commandments to follow which are not in the law.

Below is actually the second greatest law expanded, explicitly mentioning what Christ really wants us to do.

Old Covenant
(according to the law)
New Covenant
(not in the law)
Punishment
(not obeying new covenant)
You shall not murder

Exod 20:13 “You shall not murder.

Matt 5:21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’

Don’t even be angry without a cause

Matt 5:22-24 “But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Danger of judgment, hell fire.
You shall not commit adultery

Exod 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.

Matt 5:27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.

Don’t even look at a woman to lust for her

Matt 5:28-30 “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.

Hell fire
Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce

Deut 24:1 “When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house,

Matt 5:31 “Furthermore it has been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’

Do not divorce except for sexual immorality.

Matt 5:32 “But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

Causes the woman to commit adultery which is punishable by hell fire if she remarries again.
You shall not swear falsely

Lev 19:12 ‘And you shall not swear by My name falsely, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.

Num 30:2 “If a man makes a vow to the LORD, or swears an oath to bind himself by some agreement, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

Matt 5:33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.

Do not swear

Matt 5:34-37 “But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Will be guilty of breaking Christ’s commandments.
An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth

Lev 24:19-20 ‘If a man causes disfigurement of his neighbor, as he has done, so shall it be done to him– ‘fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he has caused disfigurement of a man, so shall it be done to him.

Matt 5:38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’

Do not to resist an evil person

Matt 5:39-42 “But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

Will be guilty of breaking Christ’s commandments.
Love your neighbor and hate your enemy

Deut 25:19 “Therefore it shall be, when the LORD your God has given you rest from your enemies all around, in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance, that you will blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. You shall not forget.

Deut 23:3,6 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the LORD; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the LORD forever, … You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.

Lev 19:18 ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.

Matt 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Love your enemies

Matt 5:44-48 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Luke 6:35-36 “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

If the enemies are believers of Christ, love them affectionately but iff they are not part of the body of Christ, then love them with compassion so that for your sake, God will make His sun raise and send rain both on the just and the unjust. Discern affectionate and compassionate love.

Will be guilty of breaking Christ’s commandments which is, not being perfect before God.

Just like the 10 commandments of the law, there are 7 commandments from Jesus Christ:

  1. Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
  2. Do not be angry with your brother without a cause.
  3. Do not look at a woman to lust for her
  4. Do not divorce except for sexual immorality.
  5. Do not swear
  6. Do not to resist an evil person
  7. Love your enemies. Discern affectionate and compassionate love.

Apart from these 7 commandments comparing from the law, He also taught us various mysteries through His parables which we must follow. For a complete list of His teachings, please refer, Teachings of Jesus Christ. However, these commandments are actually from the law, and Christ explains how it must be followed according to the new covenant, that is written in the heart.

Beware! If you don’t follow the 7 commandments given by Jesus Christ, then you don’t love Him, and don’t call your self a Christian.

As JESUS specifically appointed the apostle Paul, Acts 9:15, you seem to imply that
Jesus was not a good judge of character, and made mistakes! From what you suggest, the (gentiles-non Jews) have been led astray. Read Acts 13:46.
Jesus taught that Salvation is of the Jews which is why Paul speaks of ‘The Hope of Israel’ Acts 28:20. Check John 18:37

Jesus came for the Lost Sheep of Israel and Paul was teaching to the Gentiles, who were not under or even aware of the Mosaic Laws. . The Apostles were trying to convert the Gentiles but Paul said not to. The bible is either 100% true or none of it is true

If the Bible isn’t reliable then nobody for the past 2022 years has been saved. How else did people learn about Jesus other than from the Bible? Especially in the days before the internet. There is no other way to learn about Jesus. If your answer is to pick and choose what you believe in from a corrupted source then you are a fool because what you believe in would more than likely be corrupt by your own standards and therefore not reliable. That’s also implying that the all powerful God would allow his church to be corrupted, which is not very loving. And how about “those who are not against us are for us”? That’s supposedly a command of Jesus but dosent seem it would be so by your standards.

Who is he speaking the unknown tongue to? If he is the speaker then he is speaking in front of the Church – Acts 20:7

The whole church was speaking in tongues on the day of Pentecost and the Jews from every nation under the sun thought they were drunken with new wine.

But they didn’t stop speaking in tongues. Why?
Because the Speaker Peter wasn’t speaking in tongues.

Peter spoke to edify the Jews and even explain to the Jews what they were witnessing. Just like in a Spanish speaking Church with the Preacher speaking in English.

Two folks can Preach in English at the most but they must have a Spanish Interpreter.
Two Folks in the Pulpit can speak in an Unknown tongue but they must have a Holy Ghost Tongue Interpreter.

Otherwise, As long as the Preacher ain’t speaking in tongues then the whole church can speak in tongues because they are not speaking in front of, or to anyone as the Speaker (Preacher) making a speech to the Church. – 1 Corinthians 14:28

Now if the Preacher is speaking to the church in tongues without an interpreter then he is out of order.

But God wants the church to speak with unknown tongues because they are speaking to God – 1 Corinthians 14:2

How do we know?

Because the Holy Scriptures tell us to Forbid not to speak with Tongues.

It is written,

39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
1 Corinthians 14:39-40 (KJV)

There is no Moses Divorce Precept in Grace and Truth. Therefore, There is no Divorce at all.
Fornication was never in the Moses Divorce Precept – Deuteronomy 24:1, 2
Divorce is not the penalty for Fornication.
How do we know?
Because Formication already has a penalty in marriage in Moses Law.
What’s That?
Death. – Leviticus 20:10
In Grace and Truth there is no Divorce.
If the woman depart let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband and let not the husband put away (divorce) his wife
Fornication was never in the Divorce Precept and this is why JESUS CHRIST said saving for (Matthew 5:32) or except it be for (Matthew 19:9)
Why Fornication Lord Jesus?
Because the result in the Law is Death.
JESUS CHRIST asked the Pharisees “What did Moses Command you?” – Mark 10:3
The Pharisees answered, “And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. – Mark 10:4
So JESUS CHRIST and the Pharisees are talking about the LAW.
JESUS CHRIST was born of the woman and made under the Law – Galatians 4:4
And under the Law Fornication committed adultery and the adulterer and the adulteress were put to death – Leviticus 20:10
That was the only way marriage could end then and the only way marriage can end now.
Under Grace and Truth the Adulterer and Adulteress are not put to death.
Why?
Grace is mankind’s space to repent – Revelation 2:21
If they don’t repent they will be put to the second death on Judgement day – Revelation 21:8
JESUS CHRIST brought in Grace and Truth to Fulfill the Law and the Prophets.
And the Fulfillment in Marriage is this. No Divorce at all.
It is written,
What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:9 (KJV)

These are not commandments!
