Ever since the plague of COVID-19 started sweeping the whole world, policies and laws of several nations suddenly changed. In this post, we will explore the good things God is doing through coronavirus pandemic and let us glorify Him for His mighty work.
Families closer than ever
Your wife [shall be] like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table.
Ps 128:3
Due to lockdowns around the world, God is making families stay together in their homes like never before. This level of quality family time in these modern days is truly unprecedented.
Money no longer served
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Matt 6:24
Economies around the world are doomed.1 Jesus taught us that there are two masters, either God or money. Because of this pandemic, people no longer can serve the other master but scramble for essentials. This is a disaster for those who serve money but for those who seek God lack nothing (Ps 34:10).
Ceasing murder of babies
“You shall not murder.
Exod 20:13
Several abortions clinics are either closed or the pandemic made it harder to get access. 2 God is stopping the murder of innocent children by bringing this pandemic.
Closing institutionalised false churches
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place–unless you repent.
Rev 2:5
Many churches around the world are closed.3 This is significant in the history of Christianity. Many of these churches may permanently close in future since online churches are not the same as gathering in His name or having fellowship.
No more prodigal living
“And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.
Luke 15:13
God had stopped many sins from prodigal lifestyles from happening in many nations due to social distancing and closing down non-essentials.
What’s next?
For a fire will be kindled by My wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.
I will heap calamities on them and spend My arrows against them. I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.
In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with gray hair.
Deut 32:22-25
In a previous post, we saw from the song of Moses, which was the same sung in Revelation 15:34 before the bowl judgments, God is explaining how His wrath will unfold.
- Fire: Devour the earth and its harvests
- Calamities: Famines, pestilence and deadly plagues, wild animals
- Sword: Terror and death
When Australia experienced terrible bush fires, it was just a little taste of what God’s wrath is like. Now, we had entered the phase of deadly plagues. It is dreadful to even think of the next phase which is sword/war or invasion.
if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it.
Jer 18:8
Had all the abominable laws that are against God overturned? Only when a nation turns from its evil, God will relent of the disaster that He thought of bringing upon it. While coronavirus is a blessing, it is also a warning for what will come next.
Conclusion
God made families be closer than ever in lockdowns due to coronavirus pandemic. People no longer serve money. God made them scramble for essentials. God is saving lives by making it harder for abortions. God is closing down institutionalised false churches. God stopped prodigal lifestyles in the whole world through social distancing. This is truly a blessing from God. While coronavirus is a blessing, it is also a warning for what will come next.
